Human Resources & People Operations

HRM

People ops with interop built in — not an HR island.

HRM

Overview

HR teams need one system for the employee lifecycle — hire to retire — with leave balances, payroll runs, training records, and performance reviews. People data also touches scheduling (provider changes), projects (resource allocation), and compliance (GDPR erase). HRM is delivered as a standalone NestJS + Next.js suite module with its own API, portal, billing SKU, and schema prefix hrm_. It covers departments through time entries with interop ports for scheduling provider changes and GDPR erase — linkable to Projects and Suite Platform without shared databases.

Ideal for

HR managers maintaining employee records, leave, and compliance; payroll admins running period payroll with audit trail; department leads approving leave and performance reviews; and suite operators entitling HRM alongside Projects and scheduling.

Problems it solves

  • ▸Contracts in folders, leave in email, payroll in another tool — no single source of truth for employee records
  • ▸Managers approve leave via Slack; HR re-keys into payroll and balances drift
  • ▸Payroll runs lack audit trail — who was included, what changed, and when it posted is unclear
  • ▸HR updates an employee role but the booking calendar still shows old provider availability
  • ▸GDPR right-to-erasure requests require touching HR, CRM, and scheduling separately without a coordinated process

Features

  • ▸Organization structure — departments, employees, addresses, documents, and contracts
  • ▸Leave management — types, balances, requests with approve/reject/cancel workflow
  • ▸Payroll — period-based runs with post action and audit trail
  • ▸Training and performance — records and reviews tied to employee profiles
  • ▸Time entries — tracking for hourly and project-based workers
  • ▸Interop and compliance — GDPR erase, scheduling provider-changed webhook, migration import

Modules

Organization structure

Departments, employees with addresses, documents, and contracts — single source of truth from hire to retire.

Leave management

Leave types, balances, and requests with approve/reject/cancel workflow. Approved leave flows toward payroll exclusion.

Payroll

Payroll runs with post action. Period-based processing with audit trail on who posted and when.

Training and performance

Training records and performance reviews tied to employee profiles for managers and HR.

Time entries

Time tracking entries for hourly and project-based workers — foundation for payroll and project allocation.

Interop and compliance

Employee interop port APIs, GDPR erase with audit logging, scheduling provider-changed webhook, and migration import helpers.

Benefits

  • ▸Hire-to-retire employee lifecycle in one product — not scattered folders and inboxes
  • ▸Leave and payroll connected workflows with balance and period discipline
  • ▸GDPR erase capability built in with audit logging
  • ▸Scheduling provider sync via webhook when scheduling is linked
  • ▸Standalone runnable — entitle HRM without CRM or Finance on day one
  • ▸Zero shared people database with scheduling or Projects — webhooks and service links only

Use cases

  • ▸New hire onboarding: create employee record, assign department, upload documents and contract — leave balances initialize from policy
  • ▸Leave request approved: employee submits request, manager approves in portal, balance decrements, payroll run excludes those days
  • ▸Payroll posted: payroll admin runs payroll for the period, reviews lines, posts with audit trail of who posted and when
  • ▸Provider role change: HR updates employee provider status; scheduling provider-changed webhook updates booking availability
  • ▸GDPR erase request: compliance triggers erase in HRM; employee PII purged per policy with audit log

Implementation

1. Set up departments and policies

Configure org structure, leave types, and opening balances for your workforce policies.

2. Onboard employees

Create employee records, upload documents and contracts, assign departments and managers.

3. Run leave and payroll cycles

Managers approve leave in portal; payroll admins process and post period runs.

4. Connect siblings

Register scheduling webhook for provider changes; link Projects for resource allocation references.

5. Maintain compliance

GDPR erase and audit when required; interop ports for cross-product people data events.

FAQ

Is this the same as a standalone GraphQL HRM product?

No. This HRM is the modular suite module aligned to the reference ERP HR domain. A separate GraphQL HRM codebase may exist for other deployments — they are independent products.

Does HRM connect to payroll tax filing?

Payroll runs and posting are scaffolded in HRM. External tax filing integrations are not in scope today.

Can scheduling see employee provider changes?

Yes. When scheduling is linked, the provider-changed webhook notifies scheduling to update availability when HR updates provider status.

Is GDPR erase supported?

Yes. HRM includes GDPR erase capability with audit logging for compliance workflows.

How does HRM connect to Finance?

Payroll journal posting intent can flow to Finance when that module is entitled and linked via Suite Platform service links. Validate posting rules in discovery.
